Our Founder
Renée strongly believes that reconfigured families can work. This is a philosophy she applies to her job in the office and her job at home as a mom and stepmom to four children.
Recognizing that people need reliable information about divorce, Renée penned the book Divorce in Connecticut, which can be found in every library throughout the state. Then one day she realized that children needed a resource also to help them understand divorce and with her son’s help, she authored the children’s book, Percy’s Imperfectly Perfect Family. Renee also authored the Ultimate Guide to Solo and Small Firm Success.
Renee’s most recent book, She Who Wins, is the winner of the 2023 American Book Fest Awards in Women’s Issues and the 2024 Reader Views Literary Award.
Renée is active in the legal community both presenting legal education seminars and regularly writing articles on family law. She is called upon by newspapers, radio shows, and television reporters to comment on current legal topics. As a motivational speaker, Renee has spoken across the world about relationships, the art of reinvention, life after divorce, and entrepreneurship.
In 2015, the Connecticut Law Tribune named her Litigator of the Year. Renée tried and won the case of Soderberg v. Soderberg, which garnered national attention and debate about whether a child can successfully sue a parent for non-payment of college tuition.
While litigation is sometimes necessary, Renée believes in mediation and she learned from the best. She participated in intensive mediation training with renowned mediation expert, Woody Mosten in Los Angeles, California. These are skills she brings to every mediation session so families can reach the best possible agreement for their unique situation. Renée is also a certified Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) and Attorney for the Minor Child (AMC).
As a co-founder to a tech start-up, Renee is well-versed in the Web3 world of cryptocurrency, bitcoin, and DAOs, which is instrumental in today’s world of asset recovery in divorce.
Renée graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 2003 and she has been practicing family and matrimonial law ever since. Prior to devoting her career to the legal profession, Renée worked as a media and political consultant and legislative advocate.
Renée is the host of the podcast, Happy Even After, which is an unfiltered exploration of all things divorce that is listened to across the world.
When Renée isn’t lawyering, she likes to test her strength in the gym, write twisty murder novels, and hang out with her big, chaotic, blended family and rescue dogs.
Renee takes on high asset and complex litigation and limits her caseload so that her clients can get individualized, high-level attention.
